I n this video, Lucine Jarrah, ‘20, Executive Director of the Arab American Heritage Council (AAHC), shares her journey of advocacy, community engagement, and cultural empowerment. She reflects on how her time at UM-Flint, including involvement in student organizations, helped her find her voice and develop the leadership skills that guide her work today.
Recognized nationally as part of the Arab America Foundation’s 30 Under 30 initiative, Jarrah has been instrumental in expanding AAHC’s programs, including immigration services, civic engagement, and cultural initiatives. She collaborates with local organizations like the Latinx Technology and Community Center and the Flint Institute of Arts to amplify community impact, and contributes to national efforts on voting rights, health equity, and immigration reform through her work with the National Network for Arab American Communities.
Since the writing of this story Lucine has joined UM-Flint’s Office of Research as a Community-Engaged Research Program Manager.
