Jonathan Wasser | CASE ‘07

Political Science

Jonathan M. Wasser has been elevated to partner in the Taxation and Wealth Planning Department at Fox Rothschild, based in the firm’s Philadelphia office. Fox Rothschild is a national law firm with more than 1,000 attorneys across the United States, known for combining the reach and resources of a large firm with the personalized service of a boutique practice.

Wasser’s promotion recognizes his expertise in taxation and wealth planning, as well as his dedication to clients and colleagues.

Stanley Osborn | CASE ‘77

Music

Stanley Osborn organist and choirmaster of the chapel at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, recently organized a program for children in which 20 kids assembled a small pipe organ from a kit designed in the Netherlands. The participants then took turns pumping air and playing tunes. The program is intended to teach children how pipe organs work and to inspire a future generation of musicians.

Heather Ruby | SOM ‘18

Business Administration

Heather Ruby is co-owner of ARC Engineering Solutions, an automation and industrial services company based in Howell, Michigan. Alongside her husband, Eric, she has helped grow ARC from a small startup into a trusted partner for manufacturers across the region.

At ARC, Ruby focuses on people as much as technology, emphasizing relationships, team culture and service that makes a lasting impact. She is passionate about creating a workplace where employees feel valued and where innovation and integrity guide every decision.

This fall, Ruby will begin the online MBA program at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. She looks forward to building on the foundation UM-Flint gave her and strengthening the skills she’ll need to lead ARC into its next phase of growth.

Ruby and her husband are also navigating his stage IV colon cancer diagnosis together. Through it all, she credits UM-Flint with giving her the tools to lead with confidence, compassion and heart.

Darcele Robinson | CHS ‘22

Social Work

Darcele Robinson received an honorary doctorate in 2023 and the Governor’s Service Award in 2024. She is the author of five children’s books, including Kaygan’s Adventure: My Feelings Matter, an award-winning title that encourages emotional awareness and self-expression among young readers.

Gregory Havrilcsak | CASE ‘78

History

Gregory Havrilcsak marked his 25th year of teaching in the University of Michigan-Flint Department of History in January 2025. He was named the 2024 recipient of the Collegiate Lecturer Award in recognition of his excellence in teaching and service.

Denise Smith Allen | CASE ‘10

Public Administration

Denise Smith Allen earned a Ph.D. in public policy and administration with a specialization in criminal justice in 2017. Following a 32-year career with the Department of Corrections as a probation and parole agent, she now uses her experience to teach future professionals in the field. She also provides consulting services, leads focus groups, and assists justice-involved and returning citizens, with a special focus on supporting women.

Stephanie D. Shah | CASE 

Applied Science

Stephanie D. Shah founded Vision for My Life Educational Development Center while earning her bachelor’s degree at the University of Michigan-Flint in 2008. She began with a single student, helping a high school dropout earn a diploma or GED. Today, her program serves more than 200 students annually and has expanded to reach communities across the United States and abroad.

Chris Gordon | CASE ‘99

Elementary Education

Chris Gordon recently published From Survivor to Striver: How Gratitude Can Transform You Into a Superhero!, a book that shares his journey overcoming a life-threatening disease and offers readers practical gratitude exercises, including a six-month gratitude journal. The book is available on Amazon and other online retailers.
