At the public launch of the “Look to Michigan” campaign in October 2024, a U-M system-wide goal of $7 billion was also announced. The campaign merges philanthropic impact with the university’s innovative vision for the future.

“Our campus goal is $60 million for many important initiatives that will propel us forward with a focus on partnering with our passionate donor community and seeing the impact philanthropy will make,” Shari Schrader, UM-Flint vice chancellor for advancement, said.

“At this moment, UM-Flint needs to be a community partner working collaboratively to forge real change, generating new knowledge, and championing the cause of progress. We are prepared to meet this challenge.”

Our region is calling on someone, something, to be the change we need now. To remove barriers to education and career readiness, to help individuals cultivate their potential, and to impact the trajectory of our state for generations to come.

Now is the time to Look to Michigan. Now is the time to look to UM-Flint.

UM-Flint’s campaign priorities include:

  • Enhancing student success through scholarships, an enhanced first-year experience, academic support, promoting student health and wellness, and experiential learning.
  • Fueling research and innovation through the establishment of more professorships and early career awards and support for graduate student assistantships.
  • Partnering with our community by continuing to grow entrepreneurship and innovation on our campus and beyond, enhancing birth-12th grade partnerships, and developing new transformative programming.
  • Investing in faculty and staff by supporting curriculum development and development of those two groups.
  • Transforming our campus by continuing work on the new College of Innovation & Technology facilities, developing plans for a Student Success Hub, and enhancing student recreation spaces on campus.

Partnering with our alums, friends, community, faculty and staff, we are committed to a transformative goal to deliver a life-changing education to those we serve. With this foundation, we boldly move forward, discovering what’s next for a better tomorrow.
